Lutheran Homes of South Carolina
Lutheran Homes of South Carolina is a faith-based nonprofit organization that promotes the health and well-being of older adults. Its five residential communities offer various care options to meet the needs of residents. These communities range from assisted living to retirement living, including care for people with dementia.
Lutheran Homes of South Carolina operates the BeWell Home Services program, which provides residents with non-medical assistance. It is also the operator of the Lutheran Hospice, which provides compassionate end-of-life care for people with life-limiting conditions.
Lutheran Homes of South Carolina is dedicated to making the lives of its residents rich and full. In addition to offering a variety of daily programs, there are also guest speakers and other activities on the campus. The ministry is committed to the wellbeing of its residents, from the moment they arrive to the day they leave.
The department of oncology at the London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) is currently undergoing a pilot program to improve staff wellness. The program is called the CYdekicks program and is designed to encourage department staff to engage in physical activity. Those who take part will be awarded with a commemorative t-shirt and be led through a series of short, low impact exercises to promote cardiovascular health and enhance team cohesion. The programs are free for LHSC employees and volunteers. In the name of wellness, LHSC also offers free access to emotional support services for student learners and physicians. This program is just one way that LHSC is making the health and wellbeing of our employees a top priority.
